“Last weekend in São Paulo, on the AARC tack was the 2nd round of the Open class series for drivers using modified brushless motors. The cold and drizzly day made the dispute among Marcos Mayer, Felipe Franceschi and CrisCareca Carpinelli more interesting. Edu Dias, who was on 3rd place in Championship going into this round had some car problems and ended up only in 5th. Marcos Mayer did an excellent race with no mistakes and was the winner, while on an inspired day Felipe Franceshi took the 2nd spot from CrisCareca Carpinelli who ended up in 3rd. In the overall Championship Marcos Mayer is now all alone with two points ahead CrisCareca in 2nd.” [Source - redrc.net]

“This weekend a small 4h endurance race was held at the track in Gland, Switzerland; not typically an event that might receive so much attention, but a coupld of famous F1 faces made an appearance. With veteran Mike Cradock and former World champion Adrien Bertin as pitmen, we believe Nicolas Hamilton had tempted his older brother Lewis & teammate Heikki to have a day off from their hectic F1 schedule and join him for a day at the offroad track! Our insiders tell us that Lewis & Heikki didn’t quite show the skill, speed and ability whilst driving the buggys they usually show behind the wheel of the Mclaren MP4-23, however it’s great to see the pair able to find the time to relax away from their job. Lewis has some history with 1/8 buggy, having raced nationally and done well in ‘90, ‘91. Kudos to Nicolas for getting them out there!” Find Out More… [Source -neobuggy.net]

Team Xray reports - “Recently was held the second ever XRAY On-road challenge race in the US. The series is unique in many ways, it is designed to support local racing and help tracks continue to do what we all love. The events are run as a big club race and are not designed to cost a lot of money and burn racers out. We want to help racers and keep them interested in our sport. So far my role has been to inform the drivers of tuning options and get hands on with their cars. This has worked very well and I think that one by one people have directly benefited from it and become even more excited about RC. RC America has taken a non-selfish approach to this series, this in mind we have allowed racers with all types of chassis to compete and benefit from what we are doing. RC America president Ralph Burch: “We want to promote racing, keep racers interested and therefore keep tracks around. The whole hobby will prosper from strong tracks” RC America sends at least one professional team driver to every race to offer support and knowledge to all racers in attendance.” Read More… [Our thanks go to Xray for this news]

Team Xray reports - “The final race in the WA Challenge Cup Series was run by RRC at Whiteman Park in Perth on a tempory grass track laid out for the weekend. Saturday and Xray buddies Haley and Cornwall pushed each other in qualifying taking one two at the top of the sheet, TQ falling to Ian. Both XT8s ran a similar setup, Pauls however had some carefully mounted spiked tyres with a reduced overall diameter giving his Xray great acceleration and handling on the tight track.” Read More… [Our thanks go to Xray for this news]

“28 Days left to enter! 245 entries as of today over half way to the limit of 450. We only have 6 divisions in the US open for entries at this time with 2 divisions finishing this weekend and next. The Caribbean and South Korea races this weekend will determine invitations for them. Canada was opened earlier in the week for entries. It looks like we may hit the limit before entries close on November 1st. November 3rd will be track build day. This year we have a full 260×130 arena floor to build our track! November 4th & 5th are practice days. November 6th is qualifying for Arena Truck - Intermediate, Expert & Pro plus Gas Truck. Mains from E and lower will be ran. [Click the read more link for further info]

November 7th is qualifying for Buggy - Intermediate, Expert & Pro plus Monster Truck. Mains from E and lower will be ran. demos for the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Traxxas Slash spec class will be ran between the qualifiers and lower mains. November 8th will be the A-D mains for all classes. Also another demo race for the Electric 1/8 and Slash classes. Rumor has it the 1/8 electric buggy demos will include Losi, Caster, Blue Groove RC conversions, Novak conversions and possibly an O’Donnell. Question is how many other brands will be included that we haven’t heard about yet! Both demo classes will run 2 motos each. Moto 1 on friday - racers will draw for position and moto 2 will draw to determine whether the starting spots in that moto will be heads up or inverted. Both demo classes will start CORR style land rush. 2 rows 10 wide and funnel into turn 1. Yes 20 cars at one time on the track!” [Source - rcprosites.com]

“Get ready to go thrashing through the dirt with your Traxxas® Slayer® and Pro-Line’s Desert Rat body. The Desert Rat reaps in that bold, off-road desert look. It’s extremely pronounced fenders give it an attack-like stance, low profile styling make for fast straight-line speed, and it’s equipped with simulated side mirrors just like the full-scale Trophy trucks. Exceptional detail throughout including bed shrouding, radiator and extreme shock detail including reservoirs just behind the cab. And not too worry it’s made from genuine GE .060 thick lexan, so it’s as durable as the punishment you throw at it. When you’re looking to conquer the desert or any rough terrain, conquer it in style with Pro-Line’s new Desert Rat body for the Traxxas® Slayer®.” [Source - prolineracing.com]
