Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta Finally Released

- Warner Crocker

There was a delay or two, but those waiting for Opera to release their latest can finally get their Opera Mobile 9.5 on today. Opera released the new mobile browser and from most accounts it was well worth the wait. The guts of the new changes focus on usability with a new UI, pan and zoom, and improved speed. I’ll be checking this out over the weekend. If you’re using Opera Mobile 9.5 Mobile make sure you let us know what you think.

This installs as Opera beta and so leaves any existing installation of Opera - including 'leaked' installs. So far so good, it's fast, stable and working well on HTC Advantage. Far superior browser to Safari..........ok, ok, just kidding! Certainly renders as well as safari although overall experience isn't as smooth, certainly due to the capacitive touchscreen of the iPhone.

The big screen of the Advantage makes this my goto mobile browser of choice.

Just make sure it doesn't delete your notification settings like it did for me.

I tried it on my HTC Wizard but after a few minutes I get an "out of memory" message. I removed some programs still no luck :(

Ok, I was done testing after the third launch when I discovered it disables ALL my sound notifications each time it's launched.
